It’s no secret that the social atmosphere is one of the best parts about college living! At The Lodge, we provide so many opportunities for our residents to get out and meet each other. We strongly believe that the more we present opportunities for our residents to meet one another and enjoy their schooling, the more we add to their overall BYU-Idaho experience. Here is a list of some of the events we have done in the past:
Kickoff Karnival:
Blowup Obstacle Courses, Face Painting, Popcorn, Cotton Candy, you name it! It’s all present at our Kickoff Karnival. One of the perks of a giant courtyard area is that we have plenty of room to enjoy all that a carnival has to offer, right outside your door!
Lumberjack Bash:
Rock that plaid! And who doesn’t love pancakes (flapjacks)? This event was a hit! Complete with fake beards and a woodsman themed photo booth, our residents had a night full of food, fun, and furry woodland creatures.
Outdoor Movie Night:
Turns out, you don’t need tickets to the Drive-In movies to enjoy a movie under the stars! During Spring semester,(when it finally warms up in Rexburg) you can bring your own pillows and blankets and enjoy a night under the stars, watching your favorite movie on our giant blow-up projector screen. We’ve even had Karie Anne’s and Worlds Best Corndogs cater to these events in the past (free for our residents, of course). Seriously a hit!
BBQ:
Who doesn’t love an old-fashioned BBQ? Sit back and kick it with us while you enjoy the world-renowned cooking of our Maintenance staff… No kidding guys, they have placed 1st in the International Dutch Oven Society World Championship Cook-Off in 2011, they’re the real deal! We supply the footballs, frisbees, soccer balls, and of course the food, and you guys supply the great company.
Pool Party:
Another perk of our beautiful courtyard, pool parties! From Flamingo themed, to Luau themed pool parties, The Lodge is the place to be. Have we mentioned that there is ALWAYS food involved in our events?
Ugly Sweater Party:
One of our Christmastime favorite events, the ugly sweater Christmas party has become a tradition. Bring your ugliest sweater for a chance to win a grand prize and show up for food, cookie decorating, a food drive, and crafting.
Girls Night:
Okay, ladies.. If our gorgeous apartments and cute guys aren’t enough of a reason to stay here, then our girls night is! Want to make your own bath bomb? Come on by. Stressed and need a free massage? We’ve got you covered. Nails looking a little ignored because of finals stress. We can fix that!
March (Mustache) Madness:
There’s nothing manlier than basketball and mustaches. During March Madness, our residents can stop by the clubhouse where we play the most popular games on our 70” TV, and supply pizza and other treats. Compete in mini-games during commercial breaks for a chance to win prizes. Compete in our mustache growing competition for a chance to win the grand prize!
